Women in Science and Health Scholarship
Our Mission
The goal of the Women in Science and Health (WISH) Scholarship is to empower female high school students in our community. Each year we award young women the WISH Scholarship as a celebration of all of their amazing achievements and as an encouragement for all their future endeavors. In doing so, we hope to eliminate any potential barriers for these women as they pursue careers in STEM.
2022 WINNER
Congratulations to Chelsea McGruder, who is a graduate from Young Women's College Prep Academy and will be attending Lamar University with a Major in Nursing. AMWA wishes her the best of luck!
2021 WINNERS
Congratulations to our two 2021 Women in Science and Health (WISH) Scholarship recipients Karrison Ibe and Sheffiyat Salawu!
Karrison graduated from Young Women's College Prep Academy and will be attending the University of Texas at Austin as a pre-health student.
Sheffiyat graduated from Energy Institute High School and will be pursuing a B.S in psychology at Texas A&M University. AMWA wishes them the best of luck!
